Only 10 of the Top 100 Cryptos Ended Q4 in the Green

Despite regulatory shifts, rising market optimism, and several major coins reaching new all-time highs, 2025 still turned out to be a tough year for cryptocurrencies, marked by sharp price swings and more losses than gains for most coins. While short rallies kept hope alive throughout the year, corrections and market stress ultimately defined the trend, which brought a particularly painful downturn in the final quarter.

According to data presented by CryptoPresales.com, only ten of the top 100 coins ended Q4 in the green. Here are the biggest winners and losers among them.

Pippin Leads Q4 with Four-Digit Growth; Two Coins Saw Triple-Digit Gains, and Five Logged Double-Digit

2025 was a wild ride for cryptocurrencies. The year started strong, with institutional demand through spot ETFs and growing interest from corporate and government treasuries pulling crypto deeper into traditional financial markets. However, the first quarter still ended in the red, with Bitcoin posting its second-worst Q1 in a decade, dragged down by weak economic data and investor doubts. However, cryptos made a strong comeback in the summer, with BTC climbing to $112,500 in May and then soaring over $123,000 in mid-August. By early October, it even set a new all-time high of over $126,000, but things took a dramatic turn in Q4.

Tighter liquidity, profit-taking after earlier rallies, and broader macro uncertainty triggered sell-offs across major coins, causing their prices to plunge and wiping out a significant share of 2025`s earlier gains. Bitcoin alone is ending Q4 with a considerable 25% price drop, while many other coins suffered even bigger losses.

In fact, according to CoinMarketCap data, only ten of the top 100 cryptocurrencies are ending the quarter in the green, showing just how brutal the past three months have been. Of those ten coins, only one, Pippin, is closing Q4 with a massive four-digit gain, after soaring 1,888% over the past 90 days. Far below, Zcash and Humanity Protocol follow with 259% and 173% growth, making them the only two triple-digit performers among the Q4 winners.

Statistics show that another five coins, Monero, Dash, JUST, Tether Gold, and PAX Gold, are ending the quarter with double-digit increases, ranging from 11% to 35%, while Lighter and Bitcoin Cash posted the most modest gains among the winners of only 4% and 2.5%, respectively. All other coins in the top 100 list are ending the quarter with significant losses.

A Shocking 43 Coins Lost Over 50% of Their Value in the Past 90 Days, While Another 40 Dropped More Than 30%

The other end of the top 100 coins list shows dramatic losses over the past 90 days. Of the top 100 coins by market cap, a shocking 43 lost over 50% of their value, with some dropping by over 80%. Another 40 coins fell by more than 30%, while only 8 saw price corrections of less than 20% during this period.

Among all Q4 losers, Story, DoubleZero, and Midnight suffered the largest losses, with their prices plunging 82%, 81%, and 80%, respectively. On the other hand, UNUS SED LEO, Canton, and Chiliz posted the smallest declines, each slipping by roughly 4.6% over the past three months.
